Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom vows action against school vandalism

The traditional ruler of Uvwie Kingdom, HRM Emmanuel Sideso, Abe 1 has condemned the destruction of school facilities within Uvwie.

Sideso, stated this during a stakeholders’ meeting at the palace, attended by key figures including security agencies, the DPO, and the DSS director, as well as education officials and representatives from Ogbe Secondary School, Effurun.

Expressing concern over the audacious destruction, Sideso condemned the recurrent vandalization, noting the necessity for community-driven protection of educational assets, labeling the perpetrators as hindrances to progress.

The monarch announced plans for a collaborative effort between the palace and law enforcement to apprehend those responsible, citing a thorough vigilance campaign to root out the culprits.

Addressing ASP Ndifreke, the Divisional Police Officer of Uvwie, King Sideso urged swift investigation and prosecution, saying the palace is dedicated to supporting law enforcement and educational authorities in identifying and punishing the offenders.

Speaking further, the commissioner for secondary education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu, echoed the urgency of protecting educational infrastructure, aligning with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s commitment to prioritizing education in the state’s agenda.

Ezewu appreciated the collaborative spirit demonstrated by the mornarch, the PTA chairman of Ogbe Secondary School, and law enforcement agencies.

The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to combat school vandalism and uphold the integrity of educational institutions in Uvwie.
