People of Ugborikoko Community Urged to Shun Violence and Social Vices

The newly inaugurated leadership of Ugborikoko Development Management Committee, led by Dr Sunny Akpobuwa, has been charged to lead with integrity and carry everyone along in the scheme of things for the progress of the community.

‎The Chairman of Uvwie Local Government, Chief Anthony Ofoni, who gave the charge during the community inauguration party held in Ugborikoko, pledged to give needed support in order for them to succeed.

‎The inauguration party thrown for the Executive of the Ugborikoko Development Management Committee, which featured various side attractions, including traditional dance troupe from Agbarha Warri Kingdom, and an array of Uvwie music artists, set a mood signaling a smooth leadership transition and wide acceptance of the leadership inaugurated by the Uvwie council.

‎The occasion equally attracted community leaders from neighbouring communities coming together to celebrate the Dr Sunny Akpobuwa-led Ugborikoko Development Management Committee as well as critical stakeholders in Uvwie communities.

‎The Council Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Area, Chief Anthony Ofoni while congratulating the executive, admonished the executive to be committed to their mandate and discharge their duties with integrity.

‎Chief Ofoni noted that their leadership is expected to carry everyone along and support the existing peace in Ugborikoko.

‎He urged the people to shun violence and abstain from social vices, especially drug and substance abuse, which, according to him, have destroyed lives and dimmed many bright lights.

‎For the part of the new chairman of the community, Dr Sunny Akpobuwa, flanked by other executive members, including the community youth president, the disciplinary community chairman, expressed their gratitude to the Ugborikoko community for the confidence reposed in them, assuring to bring their wealth of experience to bear.

‎They solicited support and urged Ugborikoko people, especially the youths, to shun cultism and embrace peace for the development of the area.

‎By the inauguration, they are expected to hit the ground running and drive the development mantra of the Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, who has continued to deliver the dividends of democracy to Deltans
