The Pere of Akugbene‑Mein kingdom, in Burutu Local Government Area HRM Pere Luke Kalanama the eight has honoured the Chairman of Delta State Waterways and Land Security Committee, Chief Boro Opudu with a chieftaincy title for his selfless contributions to the peace, security and progress of Akugbene-Mein Kingdom.
The chieftaincy conferment which was part of activities of the Thanksgiving of the Pere of Akugbene-Mein Kingdom Kalanama the eight, attracted clergymen and prominent people in Ijaw land and beyond.
The Thanksgiving Service tagged “True Worshippers” as usual featured Bible readings, praise and worship sessions, prayers and message.
One of the highlights of the Thanksgiving Service was the conferment of Chieftaincy titles on some prominent Ijaw indigenes for their invaluable contributions to Akugbene-Mein Kingdom.
Most conspicuous among those confered with Chieftaincy titles is the Chairman of Delta State Land and Waterways Security, Chief Boro Opudu.
Chief Boro Opudu was confered with the title Konowei meaning Lion of Akugbene-Mein, depicting the great strength and courage with which he carries out his duty.

The Akugbene-Mein monarch, said the Chieftaincy titles bestowed on Chief Boro was in recognition of his selfless contributions towards the peace, Unity and progress of the kingdom.
The revered monarch hailed Chief Boro for his efforts towards ensuring safety of lives and property in the state.
An elated Chief Boro Opudu thanked the Pere of Akugbene-Mein Kingdom Kalanama the eight for the honour and promised to be good ambassadors of the kingdom.
He dedicated the Chieftaincy title to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for giving him the opportunity to serve assuring the King that it will spur him to do more for his people.
Over one hundred and twenty-two students were given scholarship awards
while Chief Kestin Pondi and Chief Tunde Smooth presented cash to some outstanding students at the event.
