The organizers of the Nigeria Pitch Awards have sent their congratulations to the Nigerian Super Falcons, who won the 2025 Women’s African Cup of Nations for the tenth time on Saturday. They beat the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco in a very exciting and hard-fought final.
From the nation’s capital, Abuja, Dr. Shina Philips, the President of the Nigeria Pitch Awards, praised the team for their courage and determination.
“Our girls showed the strong spirit that is typical of ordinary Nigerians. Their final win, especially when they were behind by two goals in the first 25 minutes, should be a source of inspiration for all Nigerians during our current difficulties,” Philips said.
Dr. Philips also congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all Nigerians on this big success. She encouraged Nigerians to continue supporting the National Sports Commission and the Nigeria Football Federation.

“We appreciate the President’s support for the National Sports Commission and the Nigeria Football Federation. Both are working well together to improve the performance of Nigeria’s national teams at all levels,” Philips said.
Philips praised the achievements of our national teams, saying that the Nigeria Pitch Awards is sure that the Super Falcons’ win at the recent WAFCON in Morocco will help other national teams do well in continental and global football competitions.
“We will keep believing that in the near future, the Super Eagles will win the World Cup,” Philips said.
She also felt proud of the individual achievements of the Super Falcons’ captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, and goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie, who were both nominated for the Queen of the Pitch Award at the 11th Nigeria Pitch Awards Ceremony.
Rasheedat Ajibade was named the winner of the Queen.
