Police arrest 29-year-old suspected armed robber in Delta, recover gun

Police operatives and vigilantes from Bomadi Division in Delta State have arrested a 29-year-old suspected armed robber, Felix Emizibo, in the town.

The suspect was arrested on the 18th of January, 2025, at about 18:00 hours.

The police also recovered one fabricated Beretta pistol from the suspect.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, in a statement, confirmed the report.

The police image maker said, “On the 17th of January, 2025, at about 19:00 hours, the DPO Bomadi division received information that some suspected cultists were seen parading themselves in Bomadi, brandishing weapons in a show of supremacy.”

According to SP Edafe, “Acting on this information, on the 18th of January, 2025, at about 18:00 hours, the DPO Bomadi detailed operatives attached to the division, alongside vigilantes, who embarked on an intelligence-led investigation and arrested the main suspect, Felix Emizibo, aged 29 years, and one fabricated Beretta pistol was recovered from him.”

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect bought the gun from his uncle for the sum of one hundred and fifty thousand naira.”

SP Edafe said, “The suspect is in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.”
