Police Deploy Adejobi to Delta State as DCP, Operations

The Nigerian Police Force has promoted Olumuyiwa Adejobi to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police and assigned him to oversee Operations at the Delta State Command.

DCP Adejobi, who previously served as the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), was officially decorated with his new rank after receiving approval from the Police Service Commission (PSC).

According to the Force Headquarters, his redeployment is a strategic move, placing him in charge of operations in one of the most critical and active commands in the country.

This development also puts an end to media speculation claiming that Adejobi was “controversially removed” from his position as Force PRO.

Police authorities have clarified that Adejobi’s reassignment was not disciplinary or controversial, but rather a routine part of the Force’s regular promotion and deployment of senior officers.

Sources added that, given his extensive experience in public communication, operational leadership, and community policing, DCP Adejobi’s new appointment in Delta State represents not just a step up in rank, but also a move to a more strategic and high-profile role.

“The deployment of officers is a normal administrative procedure in the Nigeria Police Force. DCP Adejobi’s record of professionalism, commitment, and service excellence made him a natural fit for this crucial operational responsibility,” a senior officer said.
