The Delta State Police Command has apprehended a 26-year-old robbery suspect, Friday Oghenemaro, and recovered a locally fabricated Beretta pistol in Ozoro.

Oghenemaro was arrested on February 9, 2026, by officers from the Ozoro Division during a routine township patrol. Reports indicate that he is allegedly a member of the Aye confraternity and had been in possession of the firearm since his secondary school days. He was arrested alongside two other suspects, while investigations continue.

In a statement, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, said the State Commissioner of Police, Aina Adesola, commended the officers for their efforts. The Commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s resolve to strengthen visibility policing and intelligence-led operations to combat crime across the state.
