Police parade kidnappers, robbers arrested with stolen vehicle in Patani, Delta

The Delta State police command, yesterday paraded 10 suspected kidnappers and 2 robbers, who allegedly stole Ondo State government’s Toyota Hilux van in Owo town.

Public Relations Officer of Delta State Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe, who confirmed this said two suspects: Tochukwu Nnamani, ‘m’, 22, and Chukwuma Unue, ‘m’, 38, from Rivers State were arrested with the vehicle by police patrol team stationed at Patani Expressway.

According to him; through a distress call from Ondo State Command, the Command got hold of the stolen vehicle with registration No. OD 231 A10 at about 2030hours, same date the suspects were arrested.

Armed with useful information, the Command’s Decoy squad immediately embarked on a technical intelligence investigation, and tracked the car to Patani.

“The Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Patani was contacted, who in turn alerted police patrol team on Patani Expressway where the suspects and the vehicle were arrested.

“The suspects claimed that the vehicle was handed over to them by one Efe in Ughelli to deliver to one Chief Ojukwu at Mbaima town in Rivers State.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle belongs to Ondo State government but attached to Ministry of Lands and Infrastructure

“And the vehicle was removed from where it was parked at Owo town in Ondo state. Case will be transferred to Ondo State Police Command”, Edafe added.
