Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has warned that he will arrest and prosecute any Ijaw, Itsekiri, or Urhobo group that refers to another ethnic group as customary tenants.
He made this statement during a security meeting with stakeholders from Warri and the surrounding areas in Benin, cautioning them to steer clear of issues that might trigger a repeat of the 2003/2004 crisis.
The meeting may be related to the disputed INEC ward delineation process in Warri.
He expressed their commitment to preventing any disruption of law and order and emphasized the importance of fostering peace, safety, and security in Warri.
