Regina Daniels Breaks Down as She Defends Her Mother and Opens Up About Marriage Struggles
In an emotional video, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels tearfully pleaded with fans to stop attacking her mother, Rita Daniels, amid the ongoing controversy surrounding her marriage to Senator Ned Nwoko.
“Please, you all should stop insulting my mom, I beg you,” she said through tears. “She’s the best thing that ever happened to me my God on earth. For seven years, my mom held everything together. You all judged her, but she tried. She warned me. My brothers warned me. Everyone did.”
Regina went on to reveal that her family had strongly opposed her marriage from the start, but she went ahead because she was deeply in love. “Everyone said no. My mom tried to stop me, my brothers were fighting and breaking things. I even went to the police station and said, ‘Arrest me! My family doesn’t want me to marry the love of my life,’” she recalled.
Addressing long-running rumors that her mother pushed her into the marriage for money, Regina firmly denied the allegations, insisting she was already financially independent before tying the knot.
“Please stop saying I got married out of greed,” she said. “We were not broke! What amount of money can a man give to a woman whose daughter was already taking care of the whole family? Through me, my mom trained all her children.”
Speaking about her two sons, Munir (born 2020) and Khalifa (born 2022), the actress vowed to put them first no matter what happens in her marriage. “I’ll fight for my children. I’ll take care of them, train them, and raise them with or without your support,” she said determinedly.
Despite her emotional tone, Regina emphasized that she still respects her husband, clarifying that her main priority now is her children and her peace of mind. “I did fall in love, and I still care and respect him. That’s love, care, and respect,” she said. “The only reason I’m not fighting you, Ned, is because I want Mona and Khalifa’s father’s name to remain strong.”
In the caption of her post, Regina reaffirmed her independence and strength, writing: “For the record, I don’t regret anything. Na only me carry my leg enter. This was a route I was meant to take not my final destination.”
