Renovation of Umukwata Secondary School Sparks Excitement Across Community

The Umukwata community in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State has been thrown into celebration as long-awaited renovation work finally begins at Umukwata Secondary School, bringing fresh hope to students, teachers, and residents after years of decay and abandonment.

The school, which had suffered extensive deterioration, is now undergoing a major upgrade following approval from the Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori. New photos from the site reveal steady progress, sparking excitement throughout the community.

Comrade Wilson Anioba, the community’s Deputy Youth President, described the renovation as both timely and life-changing. He said the governor’s intervention came at a point when many had almost given up on the school’s future.

He praised Governor Oborevwori’s dedication to revamping educational infrastructure through his M.O.R.E Agenda, noting that the promise of “renewed hope” is now clearly visible in Umukwata.

“Our working and capable Governor has once again shown his love for grassroots development. The joy among students, teachers, and the entire community is overwhelming,” Anioba said. “Your M.O.R.E Agenda is being felt across the state. We are thankful, and may God bless you.”

The community also expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Ward 4 leader, Chief Isaac Onyesom (popularly known as Omenosa), for his crucial role in pushing for the renovation and for his ongoing support of Umukwata’s welfare.

Anioba praised him for “always being there for us, doing the Godly work you’re known for, and consistently putting the community first,” emphasizing that the people remain deeply grateful for his efforts.

With the renovation progressing smoothly, residents are optimistic that the improved school will enhance learning conditions, boost students’ confidence, and restore pride in the community’s educational advancement.
