Residents of Ukwuani Turn Out En Masse for Monthly Sanitation Exercise

‎Reisdents have been advised to see the Monthly Environmental Sanitation declared by the Delta State Government not only as a monthly activity but as a daily routine.

‎During the Exercise Chairman of ,Ukwuani Local Government Area Honourable Possible Ajede, where the exercise recorded a huge success led Council officials to supervise clearing of refuse across communities in the Area

‎Refuse dump sites were cleared and road shoulders along Amai Road were cleaned, including Obiaruku town,Umutu and Umuaja .

‎The Ukwuani Local Government Beautification Committee and other task force units continued their duties aimed at keeping the Local Government Area clean and safe from diseases as the yuletide approaches.

‎Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government, Honourable Possible Ajede during the exercise reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring that every part of the Local Government Area remains environmentally safe for residents.

‎The DO MORE AGENDA Torchbearer while going round Ukwuani communities commended the Ukwuani people for what He described as an appreciable level of compliance by the people.

‎Hon. Ajede therefore urged community leaders, particularly the youths to ensure that their communities are kept clean at all times, noting that cleanliness is next to godliness.

‎‎Meanwhile, the HOD Environment, Mrs. Rosemary Eyefia who accompanied the Ukwuani Council Boss on the supervision,
‎expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance by the Ukwuani people even as she called on them to embrace the best hygiene practices in their homes and also ensure that their surroundings are always kept clean.

‎Mrs Eyefia also emphasized the need for proper waste management while calling on the people to use the approved dump site which is cleared regularly by the Council and stop disposing refuse indiscriminately.

‎On his part, the Ukwuani Local Government Beautification Committee Chairman, Mr. Murray Okpor commended Hon.Ajede for making good his administration’s DO MORE AGENDA Sustainable Environmental Conservation Initiative and for empowering His committee to deliver on it’s core mandate which is to give the Area an aesthetic facelift and ensure the safety of the citizens.

‎Tippers were on ground during the Sanitation exercise to evacuate refuse to approved dumpsites.
