Rotary club of Ovwian, District 9141 has conferred on Ovie of Udu, Engineer Mike Orugbo the Okporua the first a Honorary membership in recognition of his immense contribution to the Humanity.
Being decorated with a rotary international pin and a certificate as a Honorary member of the Rotary club of Ovwian District 9141 is an appreciation to the Ovie of Udu kingdom, Okporua the first for his love for humanitarian works and dedication in the advancement of society.
The elated momarch commended Rotary international for the recognition adding that as a reputable organisation, he is quite aware of the programmes and gestures of Rotary to society through their ideals as reflected in their seven areas of focus which touch on maternal and child health care, water and sanitation, social and economic development, education and literacy amongst others.
Okporua the first assured the club of his support to the club even as he promised to encourage his people to join the club for it to be able to carry out bigger social and humanitarian interventions.
The Rotary club of Uvwian, Rotarian Stephen Karika flanked by members of Rotary club of Uvwian including a past assistant governor, Rotarian Emmanuel Mukotoro, the secretary of the club Rotarian Jonathan Akatakpo noted that Rotary international is about service above self and the ovie of Udu kingdom through his works has distinguished himself as a Rotarian by nature.

They informed the monarch about key projects they wished to embark on especially in the area of providing portable water to communities which lack access.
The Rotary club of Ovwian president and members described the Udu monarch as a man with a heart of service hence the recognition as an Honorary member of the club. They wished the monarch fruitful reign on the throne of his forefathers.
The Rotary club of Ovwian courtesy visit to the Udu monarch is also part of an effort to familiarize with the monarch and seek areas of cooperation toward improving the living standard of the vulnerable in the Society.
