Senator Dafinone Praises Okpe Monarch’s Vision, Unity Efforts on Birthday

Senator Ede Dafinone, speaking on behalf of the Dafinone family and the people of Delta Central Senatorial District, has extended warm birthday greetings to His Royal Majesty, Maj.-Gen. Felix Mujakperuo (rtd), Orhue I, the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom.

In his congratulatory message on Thursday, the senator noted that the monarch’s birthday is not only a time to celebrate his life but also an opportunity to acknowledge his steadfast commitment to the peace and progress of the Okpe people. He added that the Orodje’s reign has continued to promote unity, dignity, and pride throughout the kingdom and beyond, saying: “No wonder the Bible says, ‘When the righteous is on the throne, the people rejoice.’”

Senator Dafinone praised the monarch’s leadership, stating that under Orhue I, the Okpe Kingdom has experienced significant development and measurable economic growth. He highlighted the royal father’s vision and foresight, which have strengthened institutions, attracted investments, and uplifted communities—making the kingdom a model of purposeful and progressive traditional governance.

He also commended the Orodje’s role as Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, noting that his wisdom and diplomacy have been vital in promoting socio-cultural and political harmony across the state. According to him, the monarch’s guidance has fostered ethnic cohesion and peaceful coexistence among Delta’s diverse communities. “Your voice has remained one of reason, balance, and fatherly counsel during crucial moments,” he said.

The lawmaker joined the people of Okpe Kingdom, Deltans, and well-wishers around the world in celebrating the Orodje’s life of humility, honour, and service, adding that his dedication to fairness, justice, and truth continues to inspire the pursuit of a more peaceful and prosperous society.

Senator Dafinone prayed that God grants the monarch many more years on the throne, blessed with good health, clarity of mind, and divine strength. “May your reign continue to bring peace, unity, and greater prosperity to the Okpe nation and the entire Delta State.

“Congratulations, Your Majesty, and happy birthday!

“Umogu! Umogu!! Umogu!!!

“Wu ne Su Tor!” he concluded.
