Nigerian lawmaker and businessman, Senator Ned Nwoko, has made a series of explosive claims on social media, alleging that his wife, Regina Daniels, has been battling substance dependence, and that her siblings and close friends have repeatedly sabotaged her rehabilitation efforts.
In a lengthy statement posted on his verified X account on Saturday, Nwoko shared videos allegedly showing Sammy Daniels, Regina’s brother, harassing his household staff and disrupting peace at his residence in Asaba whenever he was not around.
According to the Senator, Sammy’s visits were often “aggressive and disruptive,” prompting repeated security interventions.
Nwoko detailed his long history of financial support to Regina’s family, claiming he had sponsored Sammy’s university education, paid for accommodation in Abuja, and provided significant financial aid to her mother, Rita Daniels — stating that she alone received over ₦125 million in transfers over the past two years.
He revealed that Regina’s rehabilitation followed medical advice after he noticed troubling behavioral changes, including prolonged sleeplessness and erratic eating habits, allegedly caused by drug use.
However, he said the process was “constantly frustrated” by her siblings and friends, who smuggled substances into the home despite strict medical restrictions.
“The enablers—Sammy, Destiny, and others—regularly defied doctors’ orders and brought her the same drugs she was being treated for,” Nwoko alleged, naming individuals including Sonia Uche Montana and others as part of a group that encouraged the habit.
He further accused Sammy and another brother, Lawrence, of introducing Regina to the substances.
Nwoko described several confrontations, including one where he claimed Sammy stormed his compound at night, shouting and threatening after his girlfriend was asked to leave the house.
“Without the influence of drugs, could he have been so bold and disrespectful?” Nwoko asked.
The lawmaker also recounted incidents of Regina staying out overnight, frequenting nightclubs, and associating with individuals he described as “drug suppliers.”
He said he endured her behavior “for the sake of the children,” though the environment had become unsafe for his family.
Responding to viral videos that surfaced online earlier this week showing Regina and her siblings confronting domestic staff, Nwoko stated that the footage was “staged” outside his house while he was away.
“It was a pure Nollywood scenario… nobody was beaten,” he clarified, denying allegations that he sent thugs to assault his wife.
Nwoko concluded by urging Sammy to seek rehabilitation, describing his behavior as “violent and unstable,” and revealing that he had previously sponsored Lawrence’s master’s degree in London with $75,000 to help him escape what he called a “toxic environment.”
The Senator’s statement has sparked intense public reaction online, with many calling for restraint and privacy while others demand responses from Regina Daniels’ family regarding the serious allegations.
