Senator Ned Nwoko Unveils Mini Stadium in Issele-Uku, Says Project Will Drive Youth Development and Community Unity

A new chapter in grassroots sports development has opened in Delta North with the completion of a modern mini stadium in Issele-Uku, championed by the Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Senator Ned Nwoko.

The facility, which features a standard turf football pitch, a seven-a-side multi-sport arena, double-sided spectator pavilions, and professional-grade dressing rooms, is designed to enhance athletic engagement, youth participation, and communal bonding in the region.

Announcing the development, Senator Nwoko described the stadium as more than just a physical structure, stating that it represents “collective progress” and a strategic investment in the future of young people across Delta North. He noted that sports remain a powerful tool for empowerment, character-building, and community cohesion, adding that the provision of quality recreational infrastructure is key to redirecting youth energy toward productive and competitive pursuits.

“This project was conceived to inspire our youths, promote healthy competition, and strengthen the spirit of togetherness among our people,” Senator Nwoko said. “For me, every project is about impact—ensuring that our people have access to facilities that uplift, empower, and unite.”

The mini stadium is expected to serve as a major venue for local leagues, inter-community tournaments, training programs, and talent discovery initiatives.

Community members and youth groups have already expressed excitement, describing the project as timely in addressing the need for standard sporting infrastructure within the area.
Sports analysts say the facility could become a breeding ground for new football and multi-sport talents for Delta State, which is historically known as a powerhouse in national athletic competitions.

Senator Nwoko emphasized that the project aligns with his broader developmental agenda for Delta North, which includes community infrastructure, education support, youth empowerment schemes, and health outreach programs.

“Our journey of transformation continues, one community at a time,” he said, reaffirming his commitment to sustained grassroots development across the senatorial district.
