Sheath your swords, Macaulay tells Delta APC leaders, elders

Former Secretary to the Delta State Government, Chief Ovuozourie Macaulay has urged elders and leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the State to sheath their swords, following alleged plans to suspend the State party Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie.

Reacting to the current frictions in the APC in the State, Macaulay, in a statement weekend, said that the party could not afford to be divided at a time it’s leaders needed to come together and build the party for a formidable opposition.

While acknowledging that those picking holes in Elder Sobotie management style were entitled to do so, he stressed the need for all misunderstandings to be resolved internally.

He reminded leaders of the party that the tenure of Sobotie’s leadership has a short time before it’s expiration, emphasizing that there was no need for crisis as that would not guarantee a smooth transition.

He said: “Anything contrary to the smooth running of our party towards the remaining months on conducting Congress will not be good enough for our party. Any dislocation will cause an infraction that will result to several unknown issues that the party may not be able to come out of.

“I am therefore appealing to all party leaders and party faithfuls to remain calm and sheath their swords and give the reconciliation mechanisms of the party a chance”.
