Sheriff Mulade emerges as Delta State Minifootball Association Chairman

Ambassador Sheriff Mulade, a renowned grassroots football developer and philanthropist, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Delta State Minifootball Association. This development was confirmed by Davids A. Adewoye, Secretary of the Nigeria National Minifootball Association, in a letter.

Mulade, a former Delta state governorship aspirant and sole sponsor of the Delta state Ethnic Peace and Unity Cup, is also driving the first state minifootball for Allstars, which will launch the Africa4Peace games village from February 1st to 14th at Ugolo-Osubi.

The Nigeria National Minifootball Association has expressed confidence in Mulade’s ability to contribute significantly to the development of minifootball in Delta State and beyond.

Mulade has assured that his doors are open to providing opportunities for players who are not part of conventional football, emphasizing that minifootball is meant to complement and not to compete with traditional football.

To achieve this goal, Mulade has initiated the construction of a standard minifootball pitch at Ugolo-Osubi, in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, which will be completed a few weeks before the kick-off date.

He hopes to use tournaments like this to discover players who can represent Nigeria in national and international competitions, including the 2025 Africa Minifootball Nations Cup, where Nigeria will face Mauritius, Burkina-Faso, and Guinea in group D.
