To help ease the challenges Deltans and Nigerians face in obtaining international passports, the wife of the Delta State Governor, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, has made a heartfelt appeal to the Nigerian Immigration Service to simplify the process.
She made this appeal during a courtesy visit to her office by senior officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Delta State Command.
Deaconess Oborevwori congratulated the head of the delegation, Comptroller Victoria Aigbe, for making history as the first female and the first Deltan to lead the state command. She encouraged her to use the position to make a positive impact and drew attention to the ongoing difficulties citizens face when trying to get their international passports.
The Governor’s wife encouraged the team to collaborate with the You Matter Charity Foundation, particularly in efforts to combat gender-based violence and human trafficking.
In her response, Comptroller Aigbe explained that their visit was inspired by the First Lady’s remarkable work and leadership.
She also thanked the Governor’s wife on behalf of the officers for warmly welcoming them and giving them the opportunity to engage with her.
They expressed their commitment and readiness to partner with the Governor’s wife in advocating for the rights and well-being of women and children. As a gesture of appreciation, the officers presented her with an award of recognition. Afterwards, the Comptroller held a private meeting with the First Lady to discuss additional matters.
