Suspected kidnapper set ablaze by angry mob in Agbor

A suspected kidnapper has been set ablaze by an angry mob. The tragic incident happened at Alihame, Agbor in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was gathered that about nine suspected kidnappers were nabbed by Alihame Vigilante Group (AVG) at an uncompleted building by Oriri axis, Agbor-Obi, on Saturday, February 24, 2024, following a distress call by a resident in the area.

Upon arriving at Board Road, Alihame, the incident attracted residents from different areas of the community. The AVG immediately alerted policemen. 

While policemen were taking them to the station, the mob got hold of one of them and dragged him out of the police van. 

The suspected kidnapper fell and hit his head on the tarred road. 

As blood gushed out of his head, the mob descended on him and set him ablaze before the AVG and policemen could sense what was happening.

Meanwhile, six rifles, bullets, daggers, handsets and different sizes of clothes were recovered from the suspected kidnappers. 

The exhibits and the rest of the suspects were handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
