Suspected kidnappers kill vigilante member in Delta

A member of the vigilante group in Okpanam community, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State, Mr. Samurai Okoro, has been killed by suspected kidnappers.

It was learnt that the kidnappers had abducted several individuals in the community on Sunday and fled with their victims into the nearby bush.

Sources revealed that Okoro was attempting to rescue the abductees and had trailed the suspects into the forest. Unbeknownst to him, the kidnappers had spotted him from a distance, laid an ambush, and fatally shot him from behind.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident and advised vigilante members to avoid acting alone in such dangerous situations.
