Lagos state leads the medals table with 51 gold, 31 silver and 24 bronze medals, leaving Edo and Delta states to battle for second place as few track events hold this morning ahead of the youth games closing ceremony.
The events are 4 by 100 metres relay for boys and girls categories as well as the 4 by 400 metres mixed relay.
Team Edo with 33 gold, 16 silver and 27 bronze medals is second on the medals table, while Delta, the host state and perennial winner has garnered 32 gold, 36 silver and 39 bronze medals to come third .
Sports analysts believe that Team Delta’s resilience may pay off in the 4 by 100 metres relay for boys and girls categories as well as the 4 by 400 mixed relay to be decided this morning at the main bowl of the Stephen Keshi Stadium Asaba .

According to the analysts, Team Edo is likely to be displaced on the current medals table by her neighbour Delta which is set to clintch at least two more gold medals in the remaining track events.
Meanwhile, thirty three states have registered their presence on the medals table, winning a total of 771 medals, comprising 237 gold, 226 silver and 308 bronze medals.
