Teqball: Delta coach promises great future for the game in Nigeria

The Delta State Teqball Head Coach, Ken Akpovona has promised Nigerians a great outing by the country’s representatives at the forthcoming Teqball World Championships later in the year.

The tactician who handles some of the outstanding Nigeria’s Teqball players noted that though the game came to Nigeria about 5 years ago but it is growing fast and catching up with Europe where the sport started from.

On the standard of the qualifiers, he noted that “This tournament was of the highest standard both in the games’ standard and organization. Teqball in Nigeria is really getting bigger, stronger and better as more players keep emerging”, Coach Akpovona added.

The Warri based coach said that Delta State will still be the nation’s torch bearer in Teqball though he acknowledged the development of the game in other States.

“Our dominance in the sport is not in doubt as can be seen in this qualifiers with Delta State playing in both the Men’s Single and Men’s Double Finals”.

Coach Akpovona added that the game of Teqball only need sponsorship to help the Federation execute more programs and projects and in a short time, the game will bring Nigeria honours.

“I assure Nigerians that our players will do the nation proud in the forthcoming World Championship”, he concluded
