Teqball: Delta gears up for World Championships qualifiers

Chairman of Delta State Teqball Association, Dick Marvel, says the state’s team has stepped up preparations for the forthcoming Teqball World Championship Qualifiers, which will be held at the Aba Sports Club, Aba, Abia State, from July 10 to 13.

Marvel stated this during the unveiling of Team Delta’s jerseys at De Emics Grand Hotel, Ughelli, on Tuesday.

He expressed confidence in the team’s preparations, assuring that they would make the state proud.

“We have been preparing rigorously to present a strong squad that will not only represent Delta State but also Nigeria in the upcoming world championships in the US,” he said.

“Teqball has come to stay, and it’s the fastest-growing sport in the world today. I appeal to all sports enthusiasts to support the development of Teqball in Delta State and Nigeria.”

He added that the association’s board was open to sponsorship and business partnerships as they aim to take the emerging sports to greater heights.
