Three ‘one chance’ operators caught in Delta

The Delta State Police Command has apprehended three suspects accused of robbing and assaulting women under the guise of operating a transport service.

In a video shared on X on Tuesday, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, revealed that the suspects, nicknamed “one chance” operators, lured their victims into their vehicle, pretending to be transporters.

Once inside, the victims were taken to isolated locations, where they were robbed and, in some cases, assaulted.

“These three suspects operate in two folds. They go to clubs, carry runs girls, dance and drink with them, negotiate prices, and take them out pretending that they are going to the hotel.

“They later divert these young girls to the bush, rob them, transfer all their money from their bank account, and rape them. As usual, they regret their actions and pray for a second chance,” Edafe explained.

The suspects targeted women exclusively, often arranging to meet them at clubs.

One suspect, Vincent Omonigho from Enerhen, admitted: “I went to carry a girl at the club. Normally, we go to the club, we discuss with the girl, we have a good time with them, and tell them to come to the hotel that we lodged, and they join us in the car.

“On our way from the club, along the road, we collect their phones, rob them of their things, tell them to come down, drive off, and leave them.”

“We carry the girls like runs girls that we want to sleep with. We discuss with them and agree to pay them between N20,000 and N30,000, but when we get to Ughelli Road, we collect their phones, open their apps.”

Another suspect confessed to targeting passengers sporadically, saying: “We’ve picked passengers to rob on twice. We carry them to the bush in Ughelli Road.”

Although denying involvement in sexual assaults, he claimed a former gang member, now on the run, was responsible for raping the victims. “We don’t sleep with girls. It’s only one guy who used to follow us before, Peter, who is the one who sleeps with girls, but he’s nowhere to be found, he’s on the run.”

A hair vendor linked to the gang admitted to selling wigs stolen from victims, saying, “I buy from her because I felt it’s a personal thing that she sells. She has given me only four (wigs). Some people used the wig to take a loan from her friend, and if they can’t pay back, they’ll then sell it to recover their monies.”

The suspects were arrested in a club in Abraka, bringing an end to their operations.

Best Oral Steroid With Least Side Effects

Oral steroids are a type of medication used to treat various conditions, including inflammatory diseases and hormonal disorders.
Among the available options, some steroids are preferred due to their lower risk of side effects.
This article explores the best oral steroids with minimal side effects and why they might be the
    right choice for you.

    Why Choose Oral Steroids?

Oral steroids offer a convenient method of administering medication, making them easier to
manage compared to injections or other forms.
They are often prescribed for conditions like arthritis, allergies, or immune system disorders.
However, it’s crucial to weigh the benefits against potential side effects when selecting the best oral steroid.

The Importance of Choosing the Right Oral Steroid

Not all oral steroids are created equal. The right choice depends
on your medical condition, the dosage required, and personal health factors.
Consulting with a healthcare provider is essential to determine the safest and most effective option for you.

Top Oral Steroids With Least Side Effects

Several oral steroids are known for their effectiveness with fewer
side effects. Prednisone is often recommended due to its anti-inflammatory properties
and moderate side effect profile. It’s commonly used for conditions like rheumatoid arthritis or allergies.
Dexamethasone, while potent, has a low incidence of side effects when taken at
lower doses. Methylphenolate (MPA) is another option with minimal adverse effects, making it suitable for long-term use in certain conditions.

Factors to Consider When Choosing an Oral Steroid

When selecting the best oral steroid, consider factors such as:

Dosage form and convenience (e.g., tablets, liquid suspensions)

    Dose strength and absorption rate

Individual tolerance and potential side effects

    Cost and availability

Researching user reviews and consulting with a healthcare provider can provide valuable
insights into the best option for your specific needs.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Q: Are oral steroids safe?

A: Oral steroids are generally safe when used as directed, but they do carry
risks like increased risk of infections and bone density loss.

    Long-term use requires medical supervision.

Q: How do oral steroids compare to injections?

A: While both methods deliver corticosteroids effectively,
oral steroids offer convenience. Injections may be
preferred for localized treatment or when absorption issues arise.

    Q: Can I take oral steroids long-term?

A: Long-term use requires medical guidance to minimize side effects and ensure it’s the right choice for your health condition.

    Conclusion

Selecting the best oral steroid involves evaluating your needs,
considering potential side effects, and consulting with a healthcare professional.

By making an informed decision, you can maximize benefits while minimizing risks.
Remember to always follow medical advice when using steroids, whether oral or
    otherwise.
