Tiwa Savage Vows Loyalty to Davido, Opens Up About Celibacy

In a wide-ranging and candid interview session with The Breakfast Club, Afrobeats sensation Tiwa Savage offered a multifaceted look into her recent life, addressing a public dispute, her personal choices, and clearing the air on dating rumours.

The conversation touched upon her highly publicised fallout with colleague Davido, which began in January 2024 after Savage shared a social media post with Sophia Momodu, Davido’s first baby mama, amid his child custody battle.

The situation escalated to Savage filing a petition against Davido for allegedly threatening her life. Despite the conflict, Savage was keen to express her continued respect for the ‘OBO’ crooner, assuring him of her loyalty even though they had not spoken since the incident.

“I haven’t spoken to Davido, but I do want you to know that I love you and I would never betray you or take sides,” Savage stated.

Shifting to matters of the heart, the mother of one revealed that she has been celibate for the past three years, a period that aligns with her being single.

Savage explained that physical intimacy is not a priority for her outside of a romantic connection, stating she needs to be in love to feel the urge.

She joked about her situation, suggesting a potential solution for well-wishers. “I have gone three years without sex. It is not something I really like or am crazy about. I have to be in love to have the urge for sex. I have to be with someone for me to even think about it. I don’t even have sex toys. Maybe I need to. Maybe people need to get me toys for my Christmas presents,” she expressed.

This led to a discussion about a previous relationship Savage had alluded to, where she described dating a public figure who insisted on privacy despite being openly flirtatious with others.

This sparked intense speculation that the man in question was fellow superstar Wizkid. Savage took the opportunity to definitively debunk these claims, expressing her admiration for Wizkid while confirming he was not the celebrity she dated, though she declined to name the individual.

“Shoutout to Wizkid. I love and respect him, but he isn’t the one I was referring to. I said the person was a public figure, but it’s not him.” She said
