Transfer Talk: Osimhen Close to Joining Galatasaray

Osimhen

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is set to return to Turkish giants Galatasaray, having spent last season on loan at the club from Serie A side Napoli.

The 26-year-old reached an individual agreement with Galatasaray, signaling his readiness for a move that would see him commit to a contract running until June 2028.

Fabrizio Romano, transfer window expert and sport journalist reported the development on his social media pages on Monday.

While Osimhen has reportedly given his consent for the transfer to the Istanbul-based club, the completion of the deal now hinges on successful negotiations between Galatasaray and Napoli.

Romano’s Galatasaray offered the former Lille player €50 million, supplemented by an additional €5 million in performance-related add-ons.

“Galatasaray have sent €50m plus €5m proposal to Napoli for Osimhen. Osimhen, keen in return to Galatasaray and no issues on personal terms but deal depends on club to club talks as Napoli insist on higher fee for the forward. Al Hilal remained involved in the race with a plan to pay €75m clause but no agreement with Victor so far”, Romano wrote.

However, Napoli is reportedly holding out for a more substantial fee, with Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal also remaining a contender in the race for Osimhen’s signature.

Al Hilal has previously indicated their willingness to activate Osimhen’s €75 million release clause, a testament to their financial muscle.

Despite this, they have yet to secure a personal agreement with the player, leaving the door open for other suitors.Osimhen himself is said to be eager for a return to Galatasaray, a club with which he reportedly maintains strong connections.

The reigning Turkish champions now face the crucial task of meeting Napoli’s valuation to finalize the high-profile transfer.

The ultimate outcome depends on Galatasaray’s capacity to bridge the financial disparity with Napoli, who remain steadfast in their assessment of the star striker’s market worth.
