Udu/Ughelli North/South Federal Constituency: Town hall meeting holds in Udu to foster unity

A town hall meeting organised by the PDP Youth Chairman , Udu/Ughelli North/Ughelli South Federal Constituency Forum, Olorogun Hope Ejiro Ayomide JP with the youth leaders of all Udu communities held on Thursday April 10 at the Udu Local Government legislative chambers in Delta State.

The meeting was honoured by dignitaries including Olorogun John Oguma, Chairman PDP Ughelli South, Ughelli North and Udu Federal Constituency Forum, Chief (Barr.) Fred Majemite, Chief Vincent Oyibode, Executive Chairman, Udu LGA, Hon. Kelvin Kpomah, SA on Youth Mobilization, Youth Leader Otor-Udu as well as Chairman, Udu Communities Youth Leaders Forum.

The meeting was to foster unity amongst the three Federal Constituencies (U3) towards a harmonious working relationship in the prospects of the electioneering process ahead of the 2027 general election.

Chief Ayomide told the youths that politics was not just about elections and its dividends but also a means of interfacing between those led and their leaders.

He further admonished the youths to strive to build capacity through leadership examples by being icons and mentors to fellow youths, staying out of drugs and focus on building themselves through various political appointments and connections rather than sit idle hoping to be politically fed.

Chief Ayomide spoke on the need to sensitize the grassroots on the various socio-economic advancement carried out by Governor Oborevwori’s administration.

He said so much has been done while much has not been told. He told the youths that they would have to go back to the grassroots and units up to the wards to further spread the gospel of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. He told the story of the Orehrehe bridge project known by so few even as far as members of the host communities.

The over 32 community youth leaders appointed by the communities present were told to stand firm and put the interest of the party at heart while bearing in mind the mandate to triumph come 2027.

In his introductory message, the Udu Local Government Council boss, Chief Vincent Oyibode, told the youths present to hold fast and ensure a formidable and harmonious working relationship so as not to plead for the dividends of democracy but to partake of the ensuing dividends.

Oyibode also declared the ability of the Udu Eweyha and its youths to turn around the political fortunes of PDP.

He highlighted the repairs of the Orughworun and Oghrode road as a cornerstone to stamp PDP’s authority in the LGA if done.

The Council Chairman spoke on the dualization of the Ogbe-Ijoh/Aladja road by the Sheriff Oborovwori administration as well as the building of the Chapel and Executive Chairman’s office and the settling of communal crisis as met by his administration.

While responding to Chief Ejiro Hope Ayomide JP and Olorogun Vincent Oyibode, Chief John Oguma, Chairman PDP Udu/Ughelli South/North Federal Constituency Forum mentioned how in his time as a youth, they were no military patrols but just mats at the entrance of almost every home and people slept in peace.

He said as much as Chief Ejiro Hope Ayomide JP remains the U3 Federal Constituency youth leader who he has trust in, he would gladly and wholeheartedly work to deliver Governor Sheriff heffif Oborovwori come 2027.

While admonishing the youths to strive to better themselves without drugs and laziness rather stay focused and embrace the spirit of sportsmanship and stay away from violence and other social vices while welcoming the Youth O’clock.

He further charged them to go back to their communities and inaugurate the community youth forums in a bid to take over the political space.

Oguma declared a no vacancy in Dennis Osadebe Avenue come 2027.

In a very brief statement, Fred Majemite extolled the virtues of Olorogun John Oguma for his proactive nature and spirit of co-operation in ensuring the Urhobo Agenda to politically come to light.

Barr Majemite also extolled the leadership examples and qualities of Chief Ejiro Hope Ayomide JP who has shown capacity in the very short space given so far!

Responding, Chief Ejiro Hope Ayomide JP told the youths gathered that Oguma is not just a leader but a teacher and father and thanked him for the time with the youths and asked the youths to imbibe quality training received.

The highpoint of the occasion was the vote of confidence passed on Chief John Oguma and Sheffif Oborovwori’s administration.
