Ubeji Gets Facelift as Warri South Council Completes Weeklong Cleanup

The Warri South Local Government Council has successfully concluded a major cleanup exercise in Ubeji, giving the community’s dual carriageway and surrounding walkways a much-needed facelift.

The operation, which ran from November 13 to 17, focused on clearing large deposits of sand, overgrown weeds, and other debris that had built up over time and affected the area’s appearance and accessibility.

Speaking on the significance of the project, the Head of the Environment Department, Mrs. Stella Omosibo Mode, explained that the road cleaned during the exercise is the main entry route into Ubeji and also links several neighbouring communities. According to her, ensuring the road is clean and safe is crucial not only for free movement but also for the general well-being of residents.

She expressed gratitude to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Council Chairman Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac for providing the necessary support and encouragement that made the cleanup possible.

Mrs. Mode also appealed to residents to play their part in sustaining the improvements. She urged them to keep their surroundings clean, dispose of waste properly, and abide by all public health guidelines, noting that maintaining a healthy environment is a shared responsibility.
