Ughelli Allstars emerged victorious in the inaugural Africa4Peace 5-Aside veteran tournament, defeating Corner-Lux Allstars 5-4 in a thrilling finale.
Corner-Lux took an early lead, but Ughelli Allstars fought back to level the score and ultimately claim the championship title, taking home a prize of ₦1 million.
The second-place prize of ₦500,000 went to Corner-Lux Allstars, while Daudu United secured third place with a convincing 7-0 win over Men2Boys Fitness Club, earning them ₦300,000. Men2Boys Fitness Club received ₦200,000 for their fourth-place finish.
Fedrick Atutu was awarded the Don Rental Service/Africa4Peace highest goal scorer award for his impressive seven goals.
The executive chairman of the Delta state sports commission, Hon. Onos Oborewovori commended Delta state Mini Football Association Chairman, Ambassador Sheriff Mulade effort in promoting sports in the state .
Former Super Eagles players Victor Ikpeba and Sam Sodje addressed the participants, commending the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for organizing a successful tournament.
They thanked Ambassador Sheriff Mulade, the sole sponsor, and emphasized the tournament’s aim of promoting unity, oneness, and fitness among veteran players.
The LOC Chairman, Ogo Clarkson, expressed gratitude to all participating clubs and contributors to the tournament’s success. He promised improvements for the next edition.
