Prince Sam Ughujowhovwo, Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Political Matters, has praised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his forward-thinking strategy in strengthening the state’s security framework with the creation of the Delta State Security Trust Fund.
Ughujowhovwo also recognized the major financial support from prominent stakeholders in the state Olorogun John Unukebo Oguma, Chairman of the Ughelli North, Ughelli South, Udu Federal Constituency Forum, who donated ₦500 million, and High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, who contributed ₦10 billion.
He noted that the initiative is designed to tackle the state’s pressing security challenges, describing it as a significant step toward improving public safety and maintaining peace across Delta.
The Executive Assistant expressed his gratitude, stating that these generous contributions reflect the leaders’ strong commitment to the safety and overall well-being of Delta State.
“This is a commendable display of civic responsibility and a clear sign of collective commitment to tackling the security challenges in our state,” Ughujowhovwo said.
He added that the donations will go toward funding critical initiatives aimed at equipping security agencies with the resources they need to operate effectively across Delta.
Governor Oborevwori’s initiative is a timely and strategic move aimed at addressing the urgent need for improved security across Delta State. Like many parts of the country, the state has grappled with issues ranging from crime to communal clashes.
The creation of the Security Trust Fund is widely regarded as a proactive step to ensure security agencies have the tools and support needed to carry out their duties efficiently.
Ughujowhovwo further noted that the fund will go beyond supporting existing law enforcement agencies it will also help launch new initiatives focused on community engagement and crime prevention.
“By strengthening the support system for our security forces, the government hopes to create a safer environment for everyone and build greater trust between the public and security personnel,” he said.
The backing from prominent figures like Oguma and Tompolo highlights a growing collective commitment among Delta State residents to work together in addressing security challenges.
