UNIBEN Graduate Found Dead in Delta

A tragic incident occurred on Monday, March 16, in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, where a young man named Joshua Umokoro, a graduate of the University of Benin, was discovered dead on a farm in the Jesse community.

According to a local source, Umokoro had gone to Edeje-Irhodo Farm but did not return home, causing worry among his family and other residents. In response to his disappearance, some youths in the community organized a search party to comb the nearby farmland.

During the search, a group of unfamiliar individuals, believed to be Fulani men, were reportedly spotted in the area and taken to the police division in Jesse for questioning.

The search ended on a sad note when members of the team eventually found Umokoro’s lifeless body on the farm.

The incident has created tension and fear among residents, with some suspecting a possible link to herdsmen-related attacks in the area. As of the time this report was filed, authorities had not released an official statement regarding the circumstances of his death.
