Nigerian Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has been awarded the best goal in the Turkish Super Lig for the 2024/25 season.
The 26-year-old received the accolade for his spectacular overhead kick during stoppage time in Galatasaray’s 3-0 win over Antalyaspor in October 2024.
The league’s official social media accounts made the announcement on Tuesday.
Osimhen won a fan poll conducted on X, securing 65.8% of the votes and defeating his Galatasaray teammate, Turkish defender Kaan Ayhan, who received 34.2%.
The poll was organized on the Turkish Super Lig’s official X account on Monday, with results disclosed on Tuesday.
Osimhen progressed through two nomination rounds before facing Ayhan in the final round, where Ayhan’s entry was a well-executed free-kick.

Osimhen’s season began poorly at Napoli, where he was excluded from the squad. He was later loaned to Galatasaray.
During his loan at the Turkish club, he netted an impressive 37 goals across all competitions, contributing to Galatasaray’s Super Lig title and Turkish Cup victory.
Currently back in Nigeria, the Napoli striker has drawn interest from elite European clubs since the transfer window opened. Teams such as Chelsea, Manchester United, AC Milan, and Juventus have all been linked to him.
Furthermore, there have been ongoing efforts from Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia to attract Osimhen to the Gulf, reportedly with very lucrative salary offers.
