The executive members of APC Ward 11, Isiokolo in Ethiope East Local Government Area have reaffirmed their steadfast support for Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, commending his inclusive leadership and the developmental progress achieved across the state.
The pledge was made during a meeting hosted by Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Nyerhovwo Tonukari, at his country home in Isiokolo.
The gathering brought together party executives, elders, and stakeholders in a cordial and unifying interaction, aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots structure and promoting collective progress.
Speaking to the Ward 11 executives, Prof. Tonukari expressed sincere appreciation to the original APC members for warmly welcoming new entrants who recently defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He noted that their spirit of inclusion and cooperation reflects the party’s growing unity and political maturity at the grassroots level.
The Commissioner announced that construction has officially begun on the Ekpan–Ovu–Erhoike Road, describing the project as a significant step toward enhancing transportation and boosting economic activities in the area.
He expressed gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for approving the initiative, noting that it would transform the lives of residents and create new opportunities for the people of Isiokolo and surrounding communities.
Prof. Tonukari also urged party members to continue supporting the state government and to remain committed to fostering unity within the APC. He emphasized that political cooperation and peace at the grassroots level would accelerate development and strengthen the party ahead of future elections.
Speaking at the meeting, APC Ward 11 Chairman Mr. Roji Lawrence praised the Commissioner for his exemplary leadership and tireless efforts in driving development in the ward. He described the gathering as historic, marking a new chapter of collaboration and political awareness among party members.
Lawrence further encouraged the executive members to continue mobilizing support for the government and to educate party members on recent developments, particularly policies that directly benefit the grassroots.
Held in a warm and convivial atmosphere, the meeting concluded with renewed commitments from party leaders to work closely with Prof. Tonukari and the Oborevwori administration to advance the interests of Isiokolo and the wider Ethiope East constituency.
The event also highlighted the APC’s growing influence in Ward 11 and underscored Prof. Tonukari’s determination to maintain strong political and developmental ties with his constituents, ensuring that the community remains a key player in Delta State’s political landscape.
