In a show of unity and gratitude, a high-powered delegation of leaders from Warri South Local Government Area paid a solidarity visit to former Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, celebrating his recovery from a recent health scare.
The group, led by Dr. Joseph Otumara, converged on Uduaghan’s residence in Warri expressing relief and joy at his improved condition.
The visit underscored the enduring bonds between the ex-governor and his political allies, highlighting themes of support and communal harmony in Delta’s political landscape.
Speaking for the delegation, Warri South LGA Chairman, Hon. Weyinmi Agbateyiniro, conveyed the group’s elation.
“It is with great excitement that we gather to reconnect with our leader and celebrate his return to good health,” Agbateyiniro said, emphasizing the former governor’s pivotal role in the region’s development.
Uduaghan, appearing spirited despite his ordeal, responded with heartfelt appreciation.
“I am a man of few words, but I sincerely appreciate everyone who came to visit. Let us continue to preach love and support one another. God has been good to me, and I am getting stronger,” he remarked, his words drawing nods of agreement from the visitors.
The atmosphere turned solemn as Hon. Mrs. Esther Abrakata led a special prayer session, invoking divine strength and longevity for Uduaghan.
“He has been a blessing to this state and its people,” she intoned, as the group joined in fervent supplication.
On behalf of the host, Hon. Abigor Toju extended thanks to all attendees, describing their presence as a testament to unity and respect.
“This gathering speaks volumes about our shared commitment to one another,” Toju noted.
Ambassador Toyin Agbolayah in his remarks, praised Uduaghan’s open-door policy and his efforts in fostering cohesion among Delta leaders.
“His doors have always been open to the people, and this visit reinforces the spirit of togetherness,” Agbolayah said.
The event, attended by notable figures from Warri South, ended on a high note, with participants exchanging pleasantries and pledging continued collaboration.
Uduaghan, who served as governor from 2007 to 2015, has remained an influential voice in Delta politics, often advocating for peace and development in the oil-rich Niger Delta region.
