Warri South LG Chairmanship: PDP aspirants endorse Agbateyiniro as flag-bearer

Former President of Itsekiri National Youths Council, INYC, Mr. Weyinmi Isaac Agbateyiniro, on Thursday got endorsement of majority of the hitherto Warri South Local Government Chairmanship aspirants, the elated Agbateyiniro, immediately responded: “This is what makes PDP unique, why PDP has become the party to be envied.”

The aspirants who openly endorsed Mr. Weyinmi Agbateyiniro at the famous Peemos Place in Warri, are; Dr. Toyin Agbolaya, Mr. Emiko Oghomienor, Mr. Emma Nunu, Chief Jude Igherebuo, Hon. (Dr.) Mavis Onojowho, Hon. (Chief) Glory Ayiwe, Mr. Ofoyeju Izuagie, Hon. Gabriel Oritsemofe and Pst. Olisanmi Omasan Edukugho.

Mr. Agbateyiniro, who until the unfolding political development in Warri South PDP, held the position of Delta State Commissioner for Youth Development, proclaimed: “I express my profound gratitude to His Excellency, the Governor, Rt. Hon. Elder, Sheriff Oborevwori and the entire leadership of the party, for finding us worthy enough to invest in this campaign. A lot of persons aspired to be chairman of this local government (Warri South) all eminently qualified, but the government and the leadership of this party (PDP) found I and my Vice (running mate, Hon. Kingsley Edafiadjebre) worthy enough to be saddled with such responsibility, it means a lot.

“For the other aspirants to deem it fit to extend this magnitude of support to my humble self and my Vice, also speaks volume. We do not take this privilege for granted. We want to assure you that this confidence imposed on us, will not be eroded. We will back our words with corresponding actions. When we are sworn in, we will seat with all the other aspirants and we will allow inferior ideas, become superior ideas. We will carry everybody along.”

While Dr. Toyin Agbolaya, stated: “I beg all my co-aspirants, let us come together to make sure we move the local government forward. We all have our plans and blessings for Warri South Local Government and it is geared towards moving the local government to greater height.

“Tomorrow, it might be our turn, even if we’re not contesting local government chairmanship. Let us come together as one body and share our plans with the emerging candidate, so that it will benefit our local government. I beg all those who are aggrieved to lay down their swords for the sake of Warri South local government.”

Former Leader of Warri South Legislative Arm, Hon. (Chief) Jude Onovughe Igherebuo, said: “I want to thank the Chairman (Mr. Agbateyiniro) and Vice (Hon. Edafiadjebre) for this initiative. In all, we give thanks to God. We all came out in agitation for this position, thank God the person who emerged is also one of us. It is in the interest of the party that we should put our heads together and work towards his success. If he succeeds, we have all succeeded and the party also succeeds. I will enjoin all of us to work assiduously for him and his team.”

One-time member of Warri South Local Government Transition Committee, Hon. (Chief) Glory Ayiwe on his part, asserted: “As God will have it, we are one people from one great party and we cannot divide the party. The best thing to do is what we are doing currently. It will be unfair for us not to support the umbrella that we stand for. Our general goal is to our country, our local government, our wards, our community and for the betterment of our people.

“On behalf of myself, Hon. (Chief) Glory Ayiwe, my team, my Ward (ward 3) we congratulate the official flag-bearer and assure you (Agbateyiniro) that we will support you to achieve greater heights. We have seen the chairmanship candidate and his vice showcase strong level of leadership in various places and we think the right choice, was made.”

Deputy Chairman of PDP, Warri South Local Government and former Principal member of Warri South Legislative Arm, Dr. Marvis Onojowho, averred: “We don’t have any other party than this party. We must ensure we make the party grow. There is nothing else to say than to rally around them, give them our support, ensure that we pass ideas to them to make their regime a success. Agbas (Agbateyiniro) has been successful from the time he was Delta State Commissioner for Youth Development, he accommodated everybody. And I believe he will do even better. However, I want to implore him to continue in this stead of humility while in office.”

Prince Emmanuel Nunu, Ofoyeju Izuagie, Hon. Emiko Oghomienor, Pastor Olisanmi Omasan Edukugho and Hon. Gabriel Oritsemofe, all endorsed Mr. Weyinmi Agbateyiniro/Hon. Kingsley Edafiadjebre joint ticket, promising to collapse their various political structures and work for the victory of Mr. Weyinmi Agbateyiniro/Hon. Kingsley Edafiadjebre in the July 13 election.
