Wizkid and I paved the way for Afrobeats – Davido

Describes Burnaboy and others as ‘new cats’

Davido has credited himself and his colleague, Wizkid with paving the way for the global rise of Afrobeats music.

He made this submission in a recent interview with Brut, sparking a huge controversy among music lovers in Nigeria and overseas.

Davido stated that he and Wizkid were the pioneer artistes that paved the way for the global recognition and popularity of Afrobeats music before other artistes he referred to as ‘new cats’ got onboard.

According to Davido, Grammy-award winning singer, Burna Boy, and other new-school artistes including Rema, Fireboy, Asake, and Mayorkun, are beneficiaries of the foundation he and Wizkid laid earlier.

He, however, noted that he is happy that the future of Afrobeats music is in safe hands, owing to the quality music being churned out by the ‘new cats’.

“Everybody knows I was one of the first, me and Wizkid blew it up.

“So you know, it feels good seeing the new cats coming up like Burna Boy, Rema, Fire Boy, Mayorkun, Asake.

“So, I think the future of Afrobeats is in good hands.” he said.

  1. Top 11 Ways to Eliminate Bags Under Your Eyes

How Can You Get Rid of the Bags Under Your Eyes?

Bags under your eyes can be caused by various factors, including
aging, genetics, fluid retention, or lifestyle
habits. They may appear as mild puffiness or more
noticeable swelling. While some cases are manageable with
home remedies, others might require medical intervention. If
you’re looking to eliminate these bags, here’s how you can address them effectively.

    What Causes Bags Under Eyes?

Bags under the eyes are primarily influenced by aging, as collagen and
elastin in the skin degrade over time, leading to loss of
firmness. Genetics also play a significant role, determining
whether your skin is more prone to puffiness. Fluid retention, often due to sodium intake or hormonal changes,
can exacerbate the issue. Poor sleep patterns, dehydration,
and alcohol consumption can also contribute to eye swelling.

Home Remedies for Bags Under Eyes

For minor cases of bags under the eyes, you can try several home remedies:
    – Apply a cool compress using a cotton pad or ice packs to reduce
    swelling.
    – Use retinol products, as they are known to stimulate
collagen production and improve skin elasticity.

    – Incorporate vitamin C-rich foods into your diet or use topical vitamin C serums to help with collagen synthesis.

    – Apply caffeine-based eye creams or masks to reduce puffiness.

    – Green and black tea compresses can also help in soothing the skin and reducing swelling.

    Gentle Skin Massage

Gently massaging the area around your eyes can improve blood circulation, which may help in reducing puffiness.
Use your fingers to apply gentle pressure in upward strokes, starting
from the lower cheekbone and working your way towards
the temples. This method is simple yet effective for temporary relief.

    Treat Allergies

Allergies can cause eyes to swell due to histamine release.
If you suspect allergies as a cause, consult an allergist for appropriate treatment to reduce eye swelling and irritation.

Medical Treatments for Bags Under Eyes

For more persistent or severe cases, medical treatments may be necessary:
    – Chemical peels can help in removing excess skin layers that contribute to puffiness.

    – Injectable fillers are a popular option to add
volume and contour to the area, reducing the appearance of bags.

    – Laser resurfacing is another effective method for improving skin texture and elasticity around the eyes.

    – Cosmetic surgery, such as blepharoplasty, may be considered for more significant cases.

How to Prevent Bags Under Eyes

Powell, R., MD, a dermatologist at Mayo Clinic, recommends several preventive measures: maintain a healthy lifestyle with adequate sleep, stay hydrated,
avoid alcohol and excessive sodium intake, and wear sunglasses
outdoors to protect your eyes from UV exposure. Additionally, using sunscreen can help reduce
    puffiness caused by photoaging.

When to See a Healthcare Provider

If bags under your eyes persist despite home remedies or self-care measures, it’s important to consult a healthcare provider.
Persistent puffiness could indicate an underlying health issue,
such as thyroid disorders or fluid retention related to heart conditions.
A professional can provide a tailored treatment plan and ensure there are no
    serious underlying causes.

    A Quick Review

Bags under your eyes can be addressed using a combination of home
remedies and medical treatments. While some cases may require professional
intervention, lifestyle changes and consistent care can often lead to noticeable improvement.
Always consult a healthcare provider if you experience persistent or worsening symptoms.
