Youths decry poor representation of Egbema Kingdom in Delta Assembly

Members of Egbema Youth Political Forum (EGYPF), a pressure group in Egbema Kingdom, Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State have expressed concern over the alleged neglect and poor representation of Egbema Kingdom at the Delta State House of Assembly.

EGYPF in a statement by its Chairman, Barr. Ebigbagha S. Baidi, on Tuesday in Warri, stated that Mr. Martins representing Warri North Constituency for over five years has forgotten that Egbema Kingdom is the largest and most populated ethnicity in Warri North.

“The good people of Egbema Kingdom massively voted for Hon. Fred Martins, during his first and current second tenure in office but in return, there is nothing positive to show for this massive support, not even a bill sponsored for the wellbeing of electorates in the constituency”.

The group alleged that the lawmaker has never considered the Egbema Kingdom in execution of constituency projects, which ought to go across communities to feel the dividend of democracy.

Also, the group charged Hon. Martins to step up his efforts by ensuring that Egbema Kingdom  is fully represented in all ramifications at the Delta State House of Assembly.

“Our pains and aspirations as Ijaw people should be made known to the Government at the floor of the House. Our youths and women should be enlisted in empowerment and skill acquisition programs and also students in Egbema Kingdom should be considered for scholarships and meaningful constituency projects should be sited in our communities”

“This is not in any way to witch hunt our Honorable member,  but to remind of his responsibility to us as our representative in Delta State House of Assembly. It will be regrettable to support him if he fails to represent us fairly and equitably throughout his two terms in office. His two terms will be a colossal failure if he does not channel his developmental tentacles to Egbema kingdom to improve on the areas we have briefly highlighted above. We hope to see you turn to a new leaf soonest.
