In the spirit of the yuletide, the Wife of the Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Council, Chief Eunice Avweromre, has organised a special event to celebrate children and women across the Ughelli South Council Area.
Speaking at the event held at the Ughelli South Council Secretariat, Otu-Jeremi, Chief Avweromre said the initiative was her way of spreading the joy and goodwill of the season to all.
The special event also referred to as the end of year children party and hosting of women from Ughelli South Local Government Council Area paved the way for the children to have fun as they engaged in various competitions such as bouncing castle, spelling,writing,filling the basket as well as interaction with Santa Claus,Barney and Gorilla.
In her address Wife of Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Chief Eunice Avweromre gave God thanks for the colourful celebration and also thanked her husband the Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Dr Lucky Avweromre for the support in organising the ceremony.
She emphasized that her ability to celebrate the children and women from Ughelli South Local Government Area was copied from Wife of the state Governor Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori who is also putting smiles on the faces of women,youth and elderly across the state.

She pledged to continue to celebrate the children and women from time to time but sought their prayers for God to make the provisions available.
While wishing the children and women a merry Christmas and a prosperous new year 2026 Chief Avweromre expressed optimism that the year 2026 would come with better prospects to each of them and their families.
An All Progressives Congress APC Woman leader Ughelli South Mrs Lizzy Djebah,the counselor representing Ewu ward 3 Honorable Joy Akoyere and some children thanked Chief Eunice Avweromre for organising the end of year children party and hosting of women from Ughelli South noting that the celebration is first of its kind in the history of the Council.
A lot of exciting prizes were presented to children who took part in various competitions during the end of year children’s party and hosting of women of Ughelli South Local Government Council.
Vice chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Honorable Umukoro graced the ceremony.
