300 judges, lawyers trained in Delta on administration of criminal justice law

A two-day interactive and intensive training with about 300 judges, lawyers and other stakeholders in attendance, was held in Asaba, the state’s capital.

The two days capacity building training programme which was organized by the Delta State Ministry of Justice, trained the participants to be conversant with new innovations in the application of criminal justice law 2022.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Theresa Dai, said the training would address the problem of innovations in law, noting it would ensure consistency in the application of the law by stakeholders.

Dai thanked the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Isaiah Bozimo, for his efforts in driving key reform initiatives to boost justice delivery system in the state.

Bozimo said that they brought seasoned legal practitioners for the seminar, considering that they are knowledgeable and have deeper understanding of the reform process of the law.

On his part, the state Chairman of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law, Justice Godwin Briki-Okolosi, explained that the new law would provide judges and other stakeholders with what they need to work, especially in the area of administration of criminal and civil justice 2022 law.
