Oborevwori condoles with Isoko Nation over death of ex-HoS, Efenudu

Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has sent condolences to the Efenudu family of Otor-Owhe and the Isoko nation at large on the demise of erstwhile Head of Service, HoS, and Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Sir Simeon Efenudu.

Sir Efenudu passed on Friday at the age of 81 years.

Until his death, he was a member of the Delta State Advisory and Peace Building Council, and Chairman, PDP Isoko North Elders’ Council.

In a condolence message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, in Asaba, Governor Oborevwori said the late Efenudu was a quintessential public servant, a model administrator and an impeccable community leader.

He said, “Upon retirement, the late elder statesman man proceeded to acquire a degree in law and was subsequently called to the Nigerian Bar.

“He was a member of our great party, the PDP, where he served as Delta South Senatorial District Chairman.”

According to Governor Oborevwori, Efenudu’s unwavering dedication to the civil service and his extraordinary life of uncommon achievements distinguish him as a wonderful mentor and role model to the next generation of leaders in the society.

He added: “Sir Efenudu’s enduring imprints on the sands of time as an erudite lawyer and highly respected bureaucrat will continue to be a reference point to serving civil servants and generations to come.

“Even in death, we will continue to honour his laudable accomplishments and great contributions to the growth and advancement of the state from his modest beginning to the pinnacle of his brilliant career as Head of Service and Secretary to the Delta State Government.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Delta, I commiserate with the Efenudu family of Otor-Owhe in Isoko North and the entire Isoko nation on the demise of our father and elder statesman, Sir Simeon Efenudu.

”It is our prayer that God will grant his family the fortitude to bear this loss and may his gentle soul rest in peace”
