Delta CP orders arrest of vigilante who murdered Ogwashi-Uku polytechnic student, SCID commences investigation

Delta State Commissioner of Police CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, has ordered the arrest of one Ike Peter,a member of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria in Ogwashi-Uku, who allegedly shot and killed a student of Ogwashi-Uku Polytechnic one Peter Eyorowalebo, aged 29 years old.

The command in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer SP Bright Edafe read, “Today, 30th April 2025, at about 0930 hours, the DPO Ogwashi-Uku received a distress call that a suspect, Ike Peter, a member of vigilante group of Nigeria, shot and killed the victim in his room while he was reading and preparing for exams.

“The DPO swiftly mobilised to the scene and found the victim in a pool of his blood. The deceased was taken to the hospital and was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty. His body has been deposited in the mortuary for autopsy.

“The Suspect, Peter Ike, was immediately arrested and on the instructions of the commissioner of Police, the suspect was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation”.

The Commissioner of Police has ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police, the State Criminal Investigation Department, to take over the case and ensure that a thorough investigation is carried out.

The CP, while condoling with the family of the deceased and students of the Polytechnic, also advised them to remain calm as no stone will be left unturned, assuring them of Justice.
