A Non-Governmental Organisation FOOSTODEY has donated a Toyota Sienna to the You Matter Charity Foundation to mark its one year anniversary.
The National Coordinator, FOOSTODEY, Elvis Ahior, during the presentation on Thursday at Government House Asaba, said the donation was in recognition of the good works of Deaconess Oborevwori’s You Matter Charity Foundation as it clocks one year.
“Today is a memorable day and as members of FOOSTODEY, led by our International Coordinator Comrade Reuben Izeze (Esq.), we have come here to recognize the good works Her Excellency has been doing thus far through her foundation “You Matter Charity Foundation” and also to celebrate the Foundation’s one (1) year anniversary.
“Riding on the vision to create a society where everyone feels valued no matter their background, the Foundation adopted the motto, ‘Everybody is Somebody’.
“As an organization and as individuals we can all relate to this motto; we can all relate to the need to feel some level of self worth or to even have that helping hand or support system that helps you realise you can be M.O.R.E or do M.O.R.E.
“The works of Her Excellency’s foundation have continued to impact communities and lives across Delta state. This has led to the recognition of the foundation, not just locally but globally as well.
“The foundation has continued to set standards as a trail blazer, and its templates are now being replicated in other parts of the country.
“You Matter Charity Foundation has continued to advocate for accessible healthcare and the right to education for every child, women empowerment, elimination of gender based violence and drug abuse, and carry out various outreaches to impact rural dwellers across all communities in Delta State.
“We, members of FOOSTODEY and our International Coordinator Comrade Reuben Izeze (Esq.), are inspired to make this donation of a Toyota Sienna Van to Her Excellency’s Foundation “You Matter Charity Foundation”, this day in the year 2024 to mark its one year anniversary, because we strongly believe “Everybody is Somebody”.
Responding, Wife of the Delta State Governor and Founder, ‘You Matter’ Charity Foundation, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, expressed appreciation to Deltans who have bought into and supported her pet project.
Deaconess Oborevwori thanked the NGO for the donation, adding that You Matter Charity Foundation, for the past one year, has carried out humanitarian activities to give vulnerable Deltans a sense of hope and actualization. She pledged to continue using her privileged position to advance the cause of the less-privileged in the society.
