Sen Ned Nwoko empowers over 300 youths, women with N100,000 each in Delta North

Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, has significantly boosted the welfare of over 300 youths and women through an empowerment scheme.

Each beneficiary received a cash sum of N100,000 during a capacity-building and entrepreneurship program held in Asaba.

Accompanied by his wife, Regina Daniels, Senator Nwoko launched the initiative to enhance the material and economic well-being of his constituents. “I am pleased with this social effort, as the financial support will improve livelihoods and promote small-scale businesses,” he stated.

Nwoko emphasized that the empowerment program aims to foster skillful ventures, trading, and entrepreneurship, particularly within the rural economy. He urged beneficiaries to make the most of the opportunity and not to take it for granted.

Addressing the gathering, Senator Nwoko also discussed his ongoing efforts to create Anioma State, a cause he is deeply passionate about. He highlighted that the initiative, championed by the late Dennis Osadebay, the first Premier of the Mid-West Region, has received renewed support from the Anioma community. The recent Anioma Stakeholders’ Summit in Delta State capital further galvanized his commitment, with widespread acclaim from traditional rulers, eminent citizens, youths, women, socio-cultural bodies, and professional organizations.

Senator Nwoko called on the people to continue advocating for Anioma State, promising a new era of socio-economic and political opportunities.

In response, Comrade Friday Ogor, Chairman of the Association of Persons Living with Disabilities Ika South Chapter and Special Assistant to the Governor on PWD Affairs, expressed gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries.

He commended Senator Nwoko for his dedication to public charities and the advancement of Anioma land.

This empowerment scheme is the third of its kind initiated by Senator Nwoko in less than a year, with around 1,500 individuals benefiting. He assured that more programs would be rolled out in the coming months.
