APC Delta Unity Deepens as Omo-Agege Hails Oborevwori ‘Undisputed Leader’

In a dramatic show of solidarity that has sent strong signals across Delta State political circles, former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege on Friday 21 November publicly declared Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as the “undisputed leader” of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

The declaration,, it was gathered, were uttered at a high-profile social event hosted by APC chieftain and oil magnate, Chief Ayirimi Emami, in a move widely interpreted as the final burial of months of speculated rift between the two heavyweights following the mass defection of PDP bigwigs to APC in April.

Speaking on the development, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, Director-General of Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, described Omo-Agege’s gesture as “the needful” and a masterstroke that has effectively doused tension and positioned the party for landslide victories in future elections.

“His Excellency, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has done what true party men do. He has publicly recognised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as the leader of APC in Delta State. This singular act has laid to rest all rumours of disunity,” Oghenesivbe stated.

The DG further commended Chief Ayiri Emami for providing the platform that brought leaders together, stressing that the unity now on display will guarantee effortless delivery of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election and Governor Oborevwori’s second term whenever the polls are called.

“With this unity of purpose, APC Delta is now a formidable force. We are solidly behind our leader, His Excellency Sheriff Oborevwori, to continue the MORE Agenda and take Delta State to greater heights up to May 29, 2031 and beyond,” he added.

Party stakeholders have hailed the development as “the best thing to happen to APC Delta in recent times,” noting that Omo-Agege’s statesmanlike conduct has further burnished his reputation as a loyal party man who put Delta APC above personal ambition.

With the public endorsement, political observers say Governor Oborevwori now enjoys unassailable control of the state chapter, effectively bringing an end to the era of parallel structures and setting the stage for a unified onslaught against opposition parties in the oil-rich state.

As at press time, efforts to reach Senator Omo-Agege for comments were unsuccessful, but sources close to the former Deputy Senate President described him as “a proud son of Delta who will continue to work for the progress of the party and the state.”
