The Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government Area, Dr Lucky Avweromre, has called on residents of Ewu Wards One, Two and Three to close ranks and present a united political front ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Dr Avweromre made the call while addressing people of Ewu, Okparabe and Arhavwarien Kingdoms, where he emphasised the need for collective support for President Bola Tinubu and Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
The meeting commenced on a solemn note, as leaders and residents of Ewu Wards One, Two and Three observed a one-minute silence in honour of their departed leader, Chief Adasen, whose contributions to the political and social development of the communities were acknowledged by attendees.
To fill the leadership lacuna, through a motion moved by Mr David Idonor and seconded by Mr Luke Onovwie, the people of Ewu Wards One, Two, and Three, in a voice vote, chose Prince Sunny Izeregbe as their new political leader.
Chief Efeviroro Edjuto was confirmed as the Chairman of Ewu Political Union.
Addressing the people of Ewu Axis, the Chairman of Ughelli South Local Government, Dr Lucky Avweromre, told them that the time has come for the Ewu bloc to align their different interests into one indivisible and united front towards positioning the area in its rightful place.
Dr Avweromre emphasised that for Ewu Wards one, two and three to regain political relevance and glory, they must unite behind the President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s mandate for 2027.
He cautioned against what he described as the illusion of shopping for alternative candidates, arguing that prevailing political and governance indicators clearly show that President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori remain without serious rivals ahead of 2027.
The Ewu Political leader, Prince Sunny Izeregbe, told the people of Ewu axis that he was honoured and would not disappoint them.
