Butchers commence registration of members in Delta

National Butchers Union of Nigeria (NBUN), Delta State Chapter has commenced registration of members across the state in preparation for the forthcoming election in the union.

The Chairman of the committee Comrade Oris Orido after the meeting held at the Otovwodo Abattoir in Ughelli, Ughelli North LGA of Delta State, said that butchers are now better organized, as he expressed his desire to take the union to the next level in the state with the support and cooperation of its members.

Speaking further, the chairman also expressed the readiness of the union to partner with the governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori in his M.O.R.E agenda program for the development of the state, noting that the governor started very well and should be encouraged and adequately supported to succeed.

Also, the Secretary, Comrade Paul Udoka in his comments noted that the union has been reformed to forge ahead in oneness and  progress after some period of fractionalization of the group, adding that the issue of faction in the union has been laid to rest and that those who are saying there is no union should get it clear and loud that there is union and it is working for the good of all members across the state.

In his part, the former Committee Chairman of the union in the state, now the Patron, Comrade Godin Orivwo expressed happiness that the unfortunate acrimony that hindered the progress of the union after his tenure has been amicably resolved.

He passionately appealed to the butchers to continue embracing oneness and also make themselves available for the ongoing registration of the members, adding that the need to have the members properly registered can not be overemphasized in view of the forthcoming elections in the union as far as Delta State is concerned.
