As the festive season approaches, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, has held a strategic meeting with patrol and guard officers as well as all tactical teams, issuing strong directives aimed at ensuring professionalism, discipline and public trust throughout the yuletide period.
During the meeting, CP Abaniwonda emphasized the need for officers to uphold the highest standards of conduct while carrying out their duties. He reminded them that effective policing must align strictly with the rule of law, stressing that the Command will not tolerate any form of misconduct or abuse of power.

The CP particularly warned officers against harassing members of the public, noting that no policeman has the right to stop and search the mobile phones of Nigerians except in cases where individuals are under investigation for a crime. He reiterated that unauthorized phone searches are a violation of citizens’ rights and must cease immediately.
