As Delta State celebrates its 34th year since it was created, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has asked citizens to keep their rich culture alive, stay together, and work towards a common dream for a better, more successful state.
In a message shared by his Chief Press Secretary, Nkem Nwaeke, Guwor recognized the big progress the state has made since it started in 1991, but he also said there is still a lot more to do to reach the goals set by the people who started the state.
Guwor, who represents Warri South West Constituency and is the National Treasurer of the Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly, said the Assembly, under his leadership, will keep making policies that help the people.
He called the 34th anniversary a time to celebrate how far the state has come, showing strength, determination, and progress. He added that people from Delta, both in the state and outside, have good reasons to be proud of what Delta has achieved.
“Dear children of Delta State, I am very happy with you on this special day of our state’s 34th anniversary. As we celebrate this important moment, let’s look back at our journey so far, remembering the progress we have made and the difficulties we have overcome,” Guwor said.
He gave credit to previous leaders for working towards unity and development, and stressed the importance of people continuing to work together.
He also said that Delta’s many different cultures are a strong advantage that can help the state move forward in all areas.
Guwor also praised Governor Rt.Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for his clear, forward-thinking, and smart leadership. He pointed out the governor’s focus on making the state safer, protecting people’s homes and lives, and building better infrastructure.
Guwor wished all people from Delta happiness, success, and peace, and asked for God’s help as the state looks toward a better future.
