The Delta State Bursary and Scholarship Board says payment of the 2024/2025 Students Special Assistance Scheme, commonly known as the bursary award, will begin on March 10, 2026.
Executive Secretary of the Board, Dr. Godfrey Enita, made the announcement in Asaba, explaining that the payment will be made to Delta State students in tertiary institutions who successfully completed the registration and verification process for the programme.
According to him, the bursary scheme is part of the state government’s effort to assist students with the cost of higher education.

Dr Enita thanked Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for sustaining the programme and prioritising student welfare through policies that promote human capital development.
He noted that the bursary initiative reflects the governor’s M.O.R.E Agenda, which places strong focus on education and opportunities for young people in the state. The board also encouraged beneficiaries to remain committed to their studies and continue to represent Delta State positively in their institutions.
The bursary programme is one of the key education support initiatives of the Delta State Government designed to reduce financial pressure on students and help more indigenes complete their tertiary education.
